Iv been reading all these comments , model industry is a tough one, and you need to know everything about it . It’s the best thing iv ever started , uk models are not agencies they are modelling platforms that do test shoots to see if you have what it takes infront the camera it’s not all about looks you have determination and a great personality and take Critisam !!! These modelling platforms are not a scam they direct you to your modelling career if successful , your dos and donts safe agencies everything you need to know. And moaning about price of portfolio you may aswell end the start of your career ! A portfolio is essential it’s a must have .. Your not going to go apply for a job without a cv . Without your portfolio it’s like a model without a camera , these modelling platforms Are great helped me start my career . It’s not just about standing infront of camera , you have to be punctual , determined, and be willing to grab what’s chucked your way . I payed over 1000 pound for my portfolio z cards CDs and one day I’m going be a next Kate moss you need to be determined it’s only you that can do it . Good things comes to those who wait , greAter things comes to those who explore you gotta get up and do it without being in doubt one day I will achieve and dream to be Victoria secrets , travel the world :)

  10. hi, can anyone help

hi, today i had a photoshoot with an agency called `Kube`, it was really fun and that… but at the end of the day when i was shown all of the pictures they told me that i need to buy a portfolio. it was £1000 however they took the deposit off that so i ended up paying £950. they said that they will make a website and a portfolio for me.after i got home i decided to read about the agency…there is lots of negative comments that say its a scam…. i was wondering is there anyone who actually got a job and got paid like they were promised? is it really just a scam? :( if it was is it possible to get my money back in any way? many thanks x

You can go heavy and speak to trading standers. It is really sad that people are being taken advantage of.

You could try, but if they’re a platform agency you won’t get it back, as their job is to give you advice, not to find you work, that’s how they make their money…I’m sorry

    Hello All,

I was sent by Apple Models in London for a photo shoot last week with Metro Photography. I was asked to pay £50 upfront as a guarantee that I would turn up for the shoot and if I did they would pay me back. I went to the shoot and initially they all were very nice and smiley and the photo shoot went very well, as this was my first experience. After the photo shoot was over, I was asked to wait for the assessor to come and speak to me. I waited for almost 45 min before I was seen by the assessor. The person told all positive things about me and spoke really well and then asked me if I would like to see the pics and I hesitantly said yes. Then he showed me my pics and spoke about the modelling industry and the type of work I could get and what would be the pay rate. Then reality stepped in, that is when he told me that in order for me to find work either in catalogue/commercial/film/tv I need to have a good portfolio and he said that I need to have minimum 20 pics and that would cost me £650. I was told if I dont make the payment then and there itself then he would delete all my photos the moment I walked out of the studio, but I was very clear that I can’t make any payments so sudden without discussing it with my wife at home, and then I could see his facial expression change. But I didnt make the payment and walked out of the studio and today when I read all the comments, I am happy that I didnt fall victim. But Apple models did pay me back my £50 as promised.Thank God.

Same here, I’m 36 years old, 5″10′ and look 10 years younger, I’m trying to find a real people agency, but when I search the net I only get top Models agencies or scams. I’ve been to a couple of places where they’ve tried to make me pay for a portfolio, but I refused!!!! Even if they ask you £10 only, it is a scam, they’ll ask you more later for a portfolio. And trust even if you go there with the intention not to pay, when you see the fantastic pictures, you really struggle to say no. Be strong!!!! Or you will regret it later….

Hi, my daughter is due to visit Kube on Saturday for a photo shoot, we have paid the £50 as advised but after reading everyone’s comments we are now thinking this is a scam and we too will have to pay £1000 for a portfolio.

Just reading these comments in Agencies & obviously feeling worried as my 7 year old son was booked into Apple Moddelling & which I had to pay £100 upfront with the guarantee that would get back on showing up at photoshoot. I had to rearrange the shoot due to schedules & am now worried that as I will be getting a plane from Belfast there & accommodation overnight which will hit the pocket but also that I will now get hit with a hefty bill for the photos which I was not informed about beforehand. What I want to know is Apple Modelling a scam for promising results & getting nowhere or has anyone had success with them before I waste anymore money.

Hello everyone, i applied for my 4 year old son to Blackberry models, they really liked the photo i sent them and asked us to go for a test shoot with NYC studios, everyone was really nice and friendly, the test shoot went really great, after we was then asked to wait to talk to there assessor, everything that he was saying about my son was really positive and as a mum i was really happy to hear positive feedback, he then said i needed a portfolio for him, he told me that it will cost me £1000 for his photos they took that day or they will be deleted and have to go back again, he gave me the photos for £700 instead of £1000, i paid a deposit of £100 that day and set up a payment plan to pay £50 a month, when i got home that day i was reading up on the company again and then i found out that Blackberry Models and NYC Studios are NOT REAL and my son and i was scammed, after i felt so sick because they had taken advantage of my son
